MAINTAINING HEALTHY TEETH AND GUMS

with dental hygiene treatments

Long-term plaque build-up is a leading cause of gum disease. The bacteria in the plaque attacks our gums above and below the gum line to make them red and inflamed. This is the most common cause of tooth decay and eventual loss of the tooth. It is important to make sure you keep good dental hygiene standards and visit our hygienists to avoid any dental issues developing.

To reduce the plaque load, we recommend dental hygiene appointments at least every six months with our friendly and registered private dental hygienist Kiran.

VISITING THE DENTAL HYGIENIST

and what your dental hygiene appointment involves

Our dental hygienist in Leicester, Kiran, will check for any signs of gum disease, inflammation, and bleeding as well as remove any plaque build-up on all surfaces of your teeth. This plays a crucial role in reducing any oral health problems.

As part of our dental hygiene service, she will check the tissues of the mouth and conduct an oral cancer screening at each visit. She will also advise on good oral hygiene techniques at home. Our private dental hygienist will do this by looking at how you currently brush your teeth, and if/ how you use any other necessary cleaning instruments such as floss and interdental brushes (which is especially important for patients who have braces and dental implants).

Book an appointment to see our dental hygienist at our Leicester practice today.
