CONE BEAM COMPUTED TOMOGRAPHY CBCT & OPG SCANS

Advanced 3D imaging technology

Accurate and detailed diagnostics are fundamental to understanding your oral health and developing the most effective treatment plan. We utilise the latest Cone Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT) and Orthopantomogram (OPG) imaging technologies to support precise diagnosis and optimal clinical outcomes.

In-House CBCT Scanning

featuring the renowned CS 8100 3D scanner

Unlike many practices that refer patients to external imaging centres or hospitals, we’re proud to provide in-house CBCT scanning within our own practice. This means your scan can be completed quickly and conveniently, without extra appointments or travel.

With our on-site CBCT technology, you’ll benefit from:

  • No delays or external referrals
  • Immediate access to scan results
  • Faster, more personalised treatment planning

Our state-of-the-art CBCT scanner captures detailed three-dimensional images of your mouth, teeth and jaw.

Private OPG Scans

A panoramic view of your smile

Our OPG scanner provides a panoramic X-ray of the upper and lower jaws in a single image. This comprehensive overview enables us to assess your overall dental health and tailor your treatment to your specific needs.

By utilising CBCT and OPG scans, we can offer our patients a higher standard of care. To learn more, please contact us today by calling 0116 2707 300.

CBCT & OPG SCANS FAQs

What is a CBCT scan, and how is it different from a standard dental X-ray?

A CBCT scan uses cone-shaped X-rays to capture 3D images of your teeth, jaw and bone structures. It provides a detailed, three-dimensional view, which is far more comprehensive than a traditional 2D dental X-ray.

What is an OPG scan?

An OPG scan takes a single panoramic image of the upper and lower jaws, offering a complete overview of your teeth and supporting bone.

Do you offer private CBCT scans?

Yes. We provide private, in-house CBCT and OPG scans for our own patients and those referred by other dental professionals.

How long does a CBCT or OPG scan take?

The scanning process typically takes less than 10 minutes from start to finish.

Is the scan painful or invasive?

No. Both CBCT and OPG scans are completely painless and non-invasive. You simply stay still while the scanner moves around your head.

How soon will I receive my results?

Your results are usually available immediately and will be reviewed with you during your consultation or treatment planning appointment.
